White light Interview

Eloise: Welcome to another great post of Interview, Interview, Interview today I'm going to be with Lauren.D a colour specialist who has come to talk about white light.

Lauren.D: Thank you so much for inviting, it's a pleasure to be here.

Eloise: So what have you got to share with us today?

Lauren.D: I'm going to be talking to you about White light. White light isn't actually white, in fact it's the 7 colours of the rainbow but blended together it looks white to the naked eye.

Eloise: This is very interesting do continue.

Lauren.D: With white light it is possible to break it up into the colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.

Eloise: Do tell us how this is possible.

Lauren.D: If you shine a torch or any other luminous object through a glass prisim the light shall break up into their original colours.

Eloise: So how did you come to this subject?

Laurn.D: I used to study colours and how they blended when I came across white light it opened a new world and oppotunity. As most people would have I took this opptunity and studyed white light.

Eloise: Well thank you for the time you spent with us today.

Lauren.D: The pleasure was mine. Thank YOU!

Eloise: Next time we will be discussing reflection with Ibbie.H.

Black and white Interview: WARNING! SCIENTIFIC

Eloise: Hello, and today is the first amazing post of Interview, Interview, Interview, I'm here with a top colour scientist- Cari H.

Cari: It's great to be here, thanks for inviting me!

Eloise: So what brought you to this subject Cari.H?

Cari: Well, I have always been interested in science and we had to do a project on Black and White at school, and I decided that this would be a good way to link my interests to the topic.

Eloise: What a great way to connect your hobbies with projects, so what interesting things have you for us today?

Cari: One of the most fascinating things to do with this is that you get different responses from different people. Asking an artist, you would get a response along the lines of "Both of them are not colours," but if you asked a scientist (not including me!) you should an answer based on physics- white is a colour but black isn't. It depends, though, whether the colours are generated as light or as pigment.

Eloise: So could you explain and describe this in further details for our fellow readers?

Cari:White light is the spectrum of seven colours mixed together. When our rods and cones are both stimulated at the same time, we see white.
Black is the absence of visible light.

Eloise: And you mentioned pigment? What about that?

Cari: White is the absence of pigment. In albino animals, they are that way because they have a genetic mutation, so they lack melanin (pigment in their skin)
Black is cyan, magenta and yellow pigment mixed together.

Eloise: Thank you very much for your time you spent with us today.

Cari: You are very welcome! My pleasure!

Eloise: Tomorrow we shall be discussing white light with Ms Lauren.D

Black and White

Today I'm going to have a discussion about whether Black and White are colours. Are they ,well that's what I'm going to find out. This is a very debatable subject. White to me is a colour same as black but to lot's of people it's different.

In 10 minutes I'm going to be holding a discussion about Black and White

so see you until then.

If not here it is: Always keep a torch by your bed along with pencil and book that you write your thoughts in ( avoid locks).
